Genline FamilyFinder Upgrade
In our continuing efforts to improve our service, Genline will be releasing a new version of the Genline FamilyFinder for Windows (GFF) on Wednesday, May 13th at 4 AM Eastern Standard Time.
GFF 2.5 will automatically update to GFF 3.0 when you start the GFF program the first time after the update. The update may take a few minutes depending upon your Internet connection speed.
Summary of Changes
- New transcription feature - This feature allows the user the ability to transcribe a person's information from an image and save the information and make it accessible to other users. This new feature allows one to mark an area in the image and then enter the data in a form.
- New name search feature - allows the user to search by person's name - only names that have been transcribed are included in the search. (As transcriptions occur, new names are added to the name search.)
- Change Name "GIDx Search" heading to "Place Name" search in the search window.
- Option to include SCB records in the parish sequence search.
For more information on how to use the new GFF with the transcription feature, refer to the Genline FamilyFinder User Guide. The new user guide will be available on May 13th.
